Passing the buck,literally.

A couple in rural Michigan have been attempting to have a dead ram removed from their property for a week now and every local agency they call "passes the buck".Just one day after noticing the ram carcass in a ditch, they say someone removed the head(Satanists?Trophy hunters?) but alas the body is still decomposing in the ditch. The Sheriffs Dept. referred Mike & Trudy Diller to county roads for removal.County roads told the Dillers that since a sheep is classified as a domestic animal and is not a feral or wild animal, that it is not "roadkill" and therefore is not their problem. The Michigan Dept of Agriculture says they should just bury it themselves if no one steps up,which may sound like a simple solution but EWWWWW......Who wants to scrape up a large decomposing animal out of a ditch and dispose of it?Not me!

If you live in the country and a wild animal dies on your property, it is your problem. They should deal with themselves and stop trying to get the taxpayer to foot the bill.

Yeah if the ditch is on their private property then they are liable for the cleanupmyou are right about that.I would deal with it sooner rather than later because of the stink. Then again if they are like me they have enough wild animals around that will literally eat it down to the skeleton.
