A small town on the outskirts of St.Louis is considering a bill that would outlaw cursing in bars,as well as table-dancing,drinking contests and "profane" music.Bar owners in this town are shaking their heads, saying"WTF"?The town council feels that the downtown area gets a "little rowdy" when the bars let out and say they have received complaints about profanity in the area drinking establishments...
I think it is ridiculous and obviously this town must have no crime at all if they are willing to waste police resources busting people for saying"shit" in a bar. While not a drinker,I have spent many an evening inside of a bar back when my husband was in a dart league and all I know is they better bring a thick ticket book because it IS a bar.People are there to get hammered and they do not much care to censor themselves when they are having a good time.My best advice to those offended by cuss words or drunks trying to out-drink each other is to stay home and imbibe. What's next?Banning booze in bars?As long as liquor licensing laws are not being violated, the bar is not culpable and only when the drunks spill out onto the street at closing time is when the city should concentrate on enforcing good behavior.
