First of all,a "shout out" to my friend Stacey for tipping me off to this bizarre tale....
Two men in NY were arrested for check fraud yesterday after attempting to cash a dead mans Social Security check, but thats not the weirdest part.David J. Dalaia and James O'Hare, both 65, pushed Virgilio Cintron's limp corpse through the streets of Manhattan in an office chair to the check cashing store a block away and they parked the corpse outside while they entered the store.A cop in an establishment next door noticed a crowd around the slumped figure in the chair and upon investigation, discovered he was in fact dead.Further examination revealed that the 66 year old Cintron had died within the previous 24 hours of natural causes,in the residence he shared with Mr.O'Hare, and no foul play was involved.Numerous witnesses told of seeing the two men pushing the chair along, and described seeing Mr.Cintrons corpse "flopping around" and "slumping".My thoughts?Dalaia and O'Hare have seen "Weekend at Bernies" entirely too many times! They should also be charged with abuse of a corpse.Thankfully, the poor man can now rest in peace.
