I know our judicial system is bogged down with frivolous lawsuits but I would love to see the operators of Manchuria restaurant in Houma,Louisiana,get their butts sued off-if not for discrimination then for false advertising.
Ricky Labit is a frequent customer at the "all you can eat"establishment,eating there at least 3 times a week and on December 21st,he and his cousin stopped in for a meal and were shocked to receive a bill for twice the amount they expected for their meal.When they balked at the tab,the waitress informed Labit that"he was too fat,he ate too much and he looked like he had a baby in his belly"! WTF?Labit is 6'3 and weighs 277 lbs,which makes him a big guy,but not obese by any means.Furthermore,even if he weighs 500 lbs,that is no excuse to treat a customer rudely.That waitress must be a REAL people person,huh?
Upon further inquiry,the restuarants accountant spoke up,saying the restaurant owner did not speak conversional English(yet another reason to patronize American owned businesses) and he stated that the men were charged $10 extra because they habitually dined exclusively on more expensive buffet offerings such as crab legs and frog legs.SO?If you lure people in with a promise of all they can eat you cannot change the rules once they have ordered their meal.Labit says when all the seafood is depleted the kitchen only "grudgingly" prepares more.The police ended up being called and while Labit tried to pay,the restuarant comped his meal and then told him he is no longer welcome at the establishment,adding that they serve "big" people all the time and that has nothing to do with this incident.Yeah right!If they feel crab legs and frog legs are losing them money,then it is their job to take it off the buffet menu-they can't just add surcharges to patrons bills after the fact.Furthermore,if the owner cannot even be bothered to learn how to speak English then he does not deserve to get rich off of us fat dumb Americans!I hope the residents of Houma boycott this place!!!!

I agree. BOYCOTT MANCHURIA RESTAURANT!
First of all $10 is nothing.
It should be all a normal person can eat. Yes it can be seen as a problem. As well a it IS a problem that some people always try to take advantage of offers that are meant for ordinary people. If you are a compulsive over eater you should not complain. Lose 100 lbs and come back.
Use your energy to lose weight - and you'll save a lot more than $10
About your comments on weight
BMI Categories:
Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
6'3 and 277lbs gives a BMI of 34,6
with a height of 6,3 any weight above 199 lbs will put you out of the normal category.
240lbs makes you obese
Each persons body is different though.My dear hubby is 6'3 and about 265 and he is not obese-he has a small beer gut and the rest of him is rock solid!He would look sick if he weighed 199 lbs.Its all in the build.I,on the other hand,am a full foot shorter than hubby and while I will not reveal my weight,lets just say I know I am overweight-but not to an unhealthy point.
