Tonight Crisfield held its 2nd annual Christmas parade and Crisfields finest, the police and fire departments, led the pack on its route along Main Street, starting at Somerset Avenue and ending downtown on West Main street at the Crisfield Fire Department, only stopping for judging in front of City Hall. This years Grand Marshall was Mrs.April Todd, the Maryland Teacher of the Year. The Masters of Ceremonies were Adam Riggin & Jamie Gragg. The results of the judging will be announced Tuesday night.Unfortunately,I had battery issues and most of my pictures didn't turn out well-but a great time was had by all!!!!
Various floats included Curves of Crisfield,Holly Grove Christian School,& local Brownie troops.Naturally, the 2007 Crab Derby Miss Crustacean and her court were up front,as well as a great sounding Crisfield High School Marching Band with the CHS Jr.ROTC unit.Fire departments from Marion,Princess Anne,Deal Island-Chance and Greenbackville,VA were among those who appeared.Various local businesses including Tawes Brothers Chevrolet,Clough Racing,& Austin Cox Mechanical sponsored entries and the crowd was thrilled to see some classic cars rolling through as well. The Dixie Outlaws,Holly Grove Honors Choir and Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene band were among the musical entrants. For the kids,Frosty the Snowman,Sherman the Shorebird,Sneaks the library cat & Biscuit the Clown appeared and of course,St.Nick himself!!!
It was cold but alot of people came out and showed their hometown pride, and Christmas Spirit.I only regret I didn't get more photos to share!
