I am the last person in the world who wants to defend the police,especially with all the wife-beating,child molesting,rapist cops in the news recently but I am also tired of the same people who want their help trashing them when they getthe law enforcement THEY asked for!
You know what irks me?When police go into a neighborhood like Booth and attempt to clean it up because the law abiding residents living there dont want to get shot and are sick to death of crack dealers on their corners, and when they do something about the thugs running the street,they are labelled "racist cops" and everyone jumps on the bandwagon crying about their civil rights being violated.Thats getting old and tired and eventually the public is going to get tired of people crying wolf when it comes to racism.There is enough real racism in this world without throwing it around everytime someones feelings get hurt or they get p*ssed off.Its not like the Sheriffs Dept is training police dogs and fire hoses on the citizens ala Montgomery Alabama in the 1960's-they are conducting surveillance and investigations so maybe no one else has to die in the street in a deputys arms on Booth St because of some souless crack selling thug with a knife.Now I am really upset because I HATE defending the police for any reason but dammit,enough is enough.Put up or shut up.If you want them to clean up the neighborhoods let them do their thing.If you enjoy dodging bullets and being robbed in your front yard,then keep on b*tching about the police being racists-you cant have it both ways!

I feel what you are saying. The political correctness of society is what is killing us. We can not have it both ways. If blacks are tired of being "targeted" then maybe they shouldn't be the ones breaking the law. You know what i would like to see? The entire United States do an internal investigation of welfare, medicaid and food stamps receivers. MAKE THEM WORK, AND MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, THEY MIGHT STOP GETTING "TARGETED".
I have to interject here and say that statistically we have more white welfare chiselers than nonwhite in this country.
And the government will never do an audit-if they cut off welfare,thousands of government employees will lose their jobs.The government needs all those people to be dependent on them-think about it.
and not all black folks are racist or criminals. That stereotype has to go before we move forward as a society. I have seen just as many white crackheads stealing from construction sites to support their filthy habits. Only so much can be pinned on PC. Part of the problem is there is no structure in place to teach, no part of society willing to invest the time, in short everyone wants to get credit for pointing out the problem, but no one wants to donate time and effort to help fix the problem. This aint directed at you two, its just how society feels overall. After working as a social worker, I have seen it first hand. We, AMericans, are a very bitter society.

Thanks Wit!I personally think a majority of residents in the hotspots want the police to clean it up but their efforts are hampered by the select few who use the race card to muck things up.I think everyone,black or white,has the right to live in a safe neighborhood where they dont have to fear being shot or stabbed.
